Welcome to Metal Clay Ireland - Original handcrafted Jewellery.
I am Rose Bourke, Jewellery Artist and a qualified teacher of Metal Clay.
Creativity has always been a part of my life in some shape or form. Originally trained in Interior Design, I also have a keen interest in painting (particularly texture & mixed media). I started making Jewellery some years ago, originally using Silver, Wire and Polymer Clay. I became fascinated by Metal Clay after reading some articles and immediately set out to find the most professional course I could find.
My initial working in metal clay (initially Silver) was a complete 'wow factor' (and still is) and I was immediately impressed with the creative possibilities available which allowed me to incorporate my love of mixed media (use of textures, construction & 3 dimensional form, enamelling & polymer to name a few) into my jewellery design.
My passion is creating individual and unique jewellery in Silver, Gold, Bronze and Copper. All pieces are unique and I like to consider each piece a form of 'wearable art'.
My work to date has mainly been for commission but I also love to teach. Workshops include Precious Metal Clay, Bronze and Copper. I am delighted to have recently been selected as a 'Support Centre' to Mid Cornwall School of Jewellery for their home study Diploma Course.
